- Operational Management: Develop and execute plans to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant, including production planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate plant activities through planning with department managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards
- Ensure plant facilities are well-maintained for uptime and reliability.
- Participates in maintenance planning to determine plant required projects, status of ongoing projects, and scheduling of future projects.
- Safety & Quality Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols and manufacturing SOPs are strictly followed and that the plant complies with all regulatory requirements.
- Establish policies and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
- Implementing and maintaining safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
- Promote environmental responsibility and support the company's ESG goals.
- Accountable for the EHS Management System.
- Responsible for FDA-readiness and site’s certification status.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in production processes and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and solve operational issues.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure timely availability and minimize waste.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the plant’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while meeting production targets.
- Responsible for implementing cost-effective systems of control over operating expenditures, workforce, wages, and salaries.
- Reduce costs of poor quality and manage inventories.
- Responsible for plant standard costs, work definitions, and capacity models.
- Manage inventories in partnership with Supply Chain and Planning.
- Manage within the approved Capex budget.
- Ensure judicious Capex spend to maintain and upgrade the facility for safety, compliance, quality, efficiency, and capacity.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of managers, supervisors, technicians, and other staff members, providing guidance and coaching to improve performance and productivity, to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop direct reports through teamwork, coaching, and innovation.
- Build a capable team with succession plans for key positions.
- Performance Management: Performance Management of all employees, including performance reviews, goal setting, production goals, disciplinary action, career development and succession planning.
- Champion people processes that prepare employees for success, establish performance expectations, and ensure a fair and equitable disciplinary process.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance, including production metrics, safety incidents, and financial results.
- Connect effectively with key stakeholders of Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and external customers as required by standard business processes and / or sales visits.
- Ability to report effectively to the company’s executive leadership.
- Utilize Oracle ERP systems and excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Weekly, monthly, and quarterly tracking, analysis, and reporting of plant KPIs.
- Establish departmentalized key performance indicators and metrics to monitor and report overall plant performance to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing plant management role, preferably in the agriculture, food, or chemical industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Agriculture, Science or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Leadership and communication skills.
- Proven experience and leadership in a manufacturing plant setting demonstrate success in achieving productive, cost effective and compliant results.
- Superior communication skills from line level to top corporate individuals; and externally with customers and community
- Proven ability to manage budgets and optimize operational costs.
- Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools.
- Perform role of leadership as an example of integrity, respect and uncompromising business conduct
- Leadership skills in problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of business and management principles for strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
