Assembler - SLC

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for filling, whomping and bagging and boxing/packing pillows according to American Textile Company standards and work assignments.

New hired or transferred employees are expected to perform this job to standard within 1 week.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Filling

Responsible filling shell with fiber, then placing pillow on conveyor to be sewn. And randomly checking weights on QC scales.

• Whomping & Bagging

Responsible for removing completed pillows from conveyor belt, whomping pillows and bagging pillows. Responsible for packing shipping cartons with finished product according to customer specifications. Responsible for accurate carton count, and for affixing appropriate labels onto cartons.

• Prework

Responsible for removing packaging from finished pillows to be re-packaged in a different package. Responsible for making any necessary changes to finished product, and price ticketing bags and pillow shells. Responsible for any changes to components needed prior to production.

• Safety and Equipment

Responsible for careful and safe use of all company equipment and property. Responsible for reporting any equipment problems to immediate supervisor, or the maintenance department. Responsible for performing duties in such a way to ensure the safety of oneself and one's co-workers.

• Scanning

Responsible for accurately reporting finished pillows using hand held scanners.

• Changeovers

Responsible for following production changeover duties in between work orders.

ESSENTIAL

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to occasionally carry, push or pull objects weighing up to and including 35 pounds.
• Able to ambulate or stand for a full shift.
• Able to operate hand held pallet mover.
