Job PurposeOur Area Operations Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the operations for an assigned region or area. This position will participate in the development and the strategies of the business and understand the needs for an effective transportation and distribution function to support them.
Job Responsibilities- Maintain a culture of safety that follows the organization's Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) policies to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to oneself and others in the workplace.
- Instruct the team in safe working methods and upscale serious issues as appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to expand or shift course to take advantage of changes in the market.
- Identify potential problems and points of friction and work to find solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue.
- Communicate with the board or other senior officials about shifting company priorities and projects.
- Inspire and motivate employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives.
- Assess and analyze departmental budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits.
- Coordinate different teams to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities.
- Lead long-term planning to create initiatives that further the company’s overall goals.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- 5-10 years of related experience of successful supervisory/management experience required to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent.
- 5-10 years of related job experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
- Experienced in providing leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes, and challenges.
- Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long time frames.
- Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's Degree
