Job SummaryThe Emergency Management Specialist supports the Division of Emergency Management in the Department of Public Safety at the University of Utah by implementing all-hazards planning, training and exercise development, with a focus on cross-training in key incident command system section leadership positions (finance, logistics, operations and planning). Working reporting to the Emergency Management Associate Director the Specialist will also share in other duties as assigned, including emergency response (e.g., staffing the Emergency Operations Center during planned and unplanned events) that will require scheduling outside of normal working hours.
No relocation expenses are available for this position.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus one year of directly related experience.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
