Position: Mgr, Intl Ops Support 3 - Education Support

Overview

This role helps members who are in need, willing to be worthy, and willing to work to learn the doctrines and principles of self-reliance in order to provide for themselves and their families the temporal and spiritual necessities of life, or self-reliance. The incumbent is the Welfare and Self-Reliance (WSRS) information conduit and problem solver with headquarters and area employees, volunteers, and missionaries.

The incumbent serves on the global WSRS Education Support team with responsibilities for the administration of the PEF loan program, Benson Agriculture Scholarship program, and other programs and initiatives that may be introduced. The work is comprehensive, including all aspects of program support, training, marketing, and project management. Also, this role helps develop and implement strategy, policies and systems relating to these programs.

He/she is assigned to provide strategic direction, in-field training, and ongoing support to Area education support teams and other area personnel globally with specifically assigned international areas. The incumbent must be able to persuade and influence without having direct authority. This role provides training to education support teams and as the expert in program operations, policies, procedures, and systems. Addresses all process, procedure, technical, policy and operational issues.

Responsibilities
  • 40% Provide strategic direction and support to Area Education Managers in assigned areas. Mostly through virtual support and communication, provide training and ongoing collaboration with the area teams to manage and improve program operations to maintain and improve efficiency and effectiveness. This may include travel in assigned areas to better understand the realities of the needs and operational environments and assist in the training of area personnel.
  • 25% Assist the Headquarters Education Support Manager to oversee global program management and administration as well as all processes relating to the programs worldwide.
  • 25% Help develop strategy, policies, and systems relating to the education funding programs supported by the team.
  • 10% Completion of specific headquarters functional assignments and peer leadership of other Operations Support managers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree; MBA or relevant Master's level degree strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years' direct hands-on successful experience in implementing best practices and technology to improve management and administrative effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Prior international business experience a major plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is required.
  • Must have a high level of analytical and creative skills.
  • Proficiency or familiarity with project management skills preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers to utilize databases, spreadsheets, word processing, internet, and e-mail communications.
  • Must be self-starting, enthusiastic, and member/priesthood oriented.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and group training skills with ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to lead through influence, motivating individuals across teams and without direct authority to achieve higher levels of performance.
