Role Description

Davis Distributing is seeking a full-time, on-site Shop Manager and Commercial Vehicle Installation Technician to lead daily shop operations at our Salt Lake City location.

This role is responsible for overseeing shop workflow, managing installation projects, and ensuring a high standard of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Shop Manager will coordinate commercial vehicle upfitting services, supervise technicians, and serve as a key point of contact for customers and internal teams. Strong leadership, communication, and hands-on technical involvement are essential to success in this position.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily shop operations, scheduling, and workflow
  • Manage and supervise commercial vehicle installation projects from start to finish
  • Lead, train, and support shop technicians to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and installation best practices
  • Manage customer experience by providing clear communication and reliable delivery
  • Coordinate with sales and operations teams to meet customer expectations
  • Identify opportunities to improve shop processes, productivity, and organization
Qualifications
  • Experience in shop management, store management, or operations management
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to manage client expectations
  • Proven ability to deliver a high-quality customer experience through efficient execution
  • Leadership and organizational skills to manage a team and maintain a structured work environment
  • Technical knowledge or hands-on experience with commercial vehicle upfitting, customization, or installation strongly preferred
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
