Job Description

Pay Range: $22 - $24

Schedule:

Tuesday - Saturday 9:00 - 5:00

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the care and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the community grounds following the guidelines, policies, and procedures of the community and as directed by the Director of Environmental Services, and/or other designee of the Executive Director.

Responsibilities
  • Essential Job Duties (Include % of time for each responsibility):
    Maintain, clean, and repair all equipment and property as necessary, or as directed by work orders, and/or supervisor(s) to include but not limited to: floors, bathrooms, walls/ceilings, stairways, hallways, elevators, and related surfaces; remove dirt, dust, grease, film from surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions (50%)
  • Keep work areas safe by posting proper signs and keeping areas free of hazardous objects; store equipment properly when not in use
  • Use PPE and report health, safety, and sanitation concerns to a supervisor
  • Monitor overall security of the community, including entry and exit doors
  • Ensure maintenance and storage areas are clean, safe, and organized; ensure chemicals, tools, paints, etc. are properly sealed, labeled, and stored
  • Follow procedures for storing, using, and disposing of chemicals and disinfectants
  • Follow PPE policies when handling chemicals and/or cleaning
  • Follow policies governing the use of labels and MSDS
  • Address daily work orders such as replacing light bulbs, repairing resident furniture, bathrooms, kitchens, and HVAC/utility maintenance (50%)
  • Keep common areas, bathrooms, administration offices and apartments clean, attractive and functioning
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing and all electrical difficulties, including wiring and resident call systems
  • Plan, order, and perform interior/exterior painting and landscaping to maintain well-kept grounds
  • Maintain and repair pools/spas and equipment to ensure full operations and compliance with regulations
  • Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy, including painting, caulking, and basic repairs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Environmental Services or Executive Director
Non-Essential

  • May assist in moving residents during emergencies
  • Assist maintenance team members and cover duties as needed
  • Display tact, friendliness, and professionalism with residents, team members, and guests
