Cohne Kinghorn, P.C. is looking for an experienced litigation associate to join our tight-knit, full-service law firm in downtown Salt Lake City. Our practice spans a broad range of areas, and we’re looking for someone who thrives on variety, takes ownership of their work, and is excited to advance into partnership.

Cohne Kinghorn was grown by attorneys who left Big Law and mid‑size firms in search of a better way to practice. We’ve built a firm that values transparency, balance, and excellence.

• Competitive compensation (comparable to or higher than other local firms of similar size, when considering lower minimum billable hour and bonus structure)
• Lower billable hour targets = real work-life balance
• Annual objective bonuses, 401(k) with firm matching, and employer-paid health insurance
• Substantive work and early responsibility. Argue motions, take depositions, shape litigation strategy
• Transparent path to partnership with multiple recent associate-to-partner promotions
• For partners, a clear, objective compensation model with low overhead, high autonomy, and control over your own practice

• You have at least 4 years of litigation experience.
• You are confident managing a case from start to finish.
• You want to build a long-term practice, not just bill hours.
• You bring strong writing, oral advocacy, and judgment skills.

This is an in-office position in downtown Salt Lake City. We find that in-person collaboration strengthens mentorship and culture, especially for associates working towards partnership. That said, we understand that flexibility matters in a modern law practice and we are happy to discuss what that looks like here.
