Salt Lake Community College is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Events & Faculty Support Specialist to assist both faculty and event operations at the South City Campus. This dual-role position includes providing audio/visual support for events, classroom access, instructional support, and hands-on event setup. Ideal candidates will be flexible, tech-friendly, service-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced campus environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide audio/visual setup and troubleshooting for events
- Assist with classroom access, Canvas questions, printing issues, and supply requests
- Support physical setup for small events, including tables, chairs, and signage
- Communicate with faculty and event clients to confirm needs and document services
- Maintain documentation in Teams, 25
Live, and shared drives - Conduct daily room sweeps for equipment and signage
- Answer phones using Ring Central, transfer calls, and check voicemail professionally
- Participate in monthly staff meetings and ongoing training
- Collaborate closely with both Faculty Support and Events Support teams Special Instructions
- This is a part-time position, limited to a maximum of 125 hours per month.

Morning (Opener), Evening, or Both. - Two shifts are available.
- Schedule:
Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–1:00 PM;
Friday, 8:00 AM–2:00 PM - Start time is not flexible.
- Reliability is essential; this role is responsible for opening the facility each morning.
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, generally 2:30 PM–8:30 PM - Start times are flexible if they fall in the afternoon or early evening
- Must be available to stay until events conclude, which may be as late as 10:30 PM
- Primarily an evening-based shift
- Occasional weekend shifts are required throughout the year, with advance notice.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in creating and editing documents using standard office software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially via email and phone
- Confident navigating a computer and quick to learn new software applications
- Capable of lifting and moving up to 20 pounds of equipment (e.g., tables, chairs, A/V gear)
- Quick learner of basic A/V technology and support
- Ability to work independently to solve problems, as well as collaboratively as part of a team
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills
- Prior experience working with a diverse population
- Work experience in higher education or a related field
- Familiarity with platforms such as Canvas, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and 25
Live - Effective communicator across a broad range of backgrounds, cultures, abilities, and identities
- Skilled at building and maintaining positive working relationships across teams and departments
- Previous experience setting up or supporting audio/visual equipment for events or meetings
