Position: System Administrator- HPC with Security Clearance

Position Summary

System Administrator Level IV (TS/SCI clearance required or ability to obtain).

Location:

Salt Lake City, Utah.

Responsibilities
  • Installation, configuration, and networking of UNIX and/or NT based platforms.
  • Creation, modification, and deletion of user accounts.
  • Perform system back‑ups and maintain system configuration files.
  • Provide support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, e‑mail services, security protection mechanisms, and interoperability of UNIX and NT based systems.
  • Develop and implement enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verification of the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure.
  • Maintain multi‑vendor servers running COTS, open‑source, and in‑house applications to accommodate HPC division IT support requirements.
  • Administer servers running Red Hat or SUSE with direct attached FC SAN storage or SSDs.
  • Manage distributing computing tools such as Res, LSF, and SLURM.
  • Maintain HPC farm systems, HPC MPP clustered systems, front‑end servers of special‑purpose devices.
  • Support IBM or HP blade servers with FC/SAS/Network back‑end.
  • Administer multi‑vendor file systems such as XFS, GPFS, and Lustre.
  • Pre‑factory testing, factory testing, system integration and acceptance testing during the purchase process of the HP systems.
  • Ensure system integration and acceptance testing during procurement.
Qualifications
  • Ten (10) years of demonstrable experience in system administration and support of a large client‑server based IT enterprise, or five (5) years of full‑time computer science work with equivalent experience.
  • Fundamental understanding of operating systems and familiarity with Unix or NT commands or utilities at the user level.
  • Installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and commercial software packages.
  • Experience with enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation.
  • Experience with DNS, NFS, e‑mail services, security protection mechanisms, and interoperability of UNIX and NT based systems.
  • Validated certifications: RHCSA or higher Red Hat certification; valid VMWare certification; IAT Level II Certification required.
  • Candidates with Lustre experience highly preferred.
Education & Related Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Industry‑recognized professional certification may substitute for one year of experience.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $135,000 – $195,000.

Overtime: 40 hours is the standard workweek. Some programs may allow additional hours to be worked as needed. Limited programs have on‑call requirements with compensation for engagement.

Bonus:
All billable employees are eligible to earn quarterly bonuses based on the number of hours worked for that period. The hourly requirement is roughly 92% of hours available to bill in a given quarter. Quarterly hour bonuses are paid out on the same payroll as the time worked in the prior quarter (typically 21 days after the quarter ends).
