The Role
- As a Junior System Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining our IT infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone passionate about technology and eager to grow their skills in a dynamic environment. You’ll work closely with our Managed IT team to ensure systems run smoothly, troubleshoot issues, and assist with installations and configurations.
- Maintain and support IT operations, including servers, email systems, desktops, laptops, and backups.
- Configure and troubleshoot Windows Server (2012–2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, and core server roles.
- Administer Office 365, Google Workspace, VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure AD.
- Diagnose network issues (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and manage RAID configurations.
- Build and optimize physical servers and hardware components.
- Act as Tier 2 escalation for complex issues; escalate to Tier 3 when needed.
- Respond to incidents via phone, email, chat, or ticketing system.
- Manage small to medium projects and ensure timely resolution and documentation.
- 4+ years of IT experience; background in System Administration, Help Desk, or IT Installation preferred.
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset; excellent customer interaction.
- Certifications (or ability to obtain within 1 year):
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
- CompTIA Server+ or equivalent
- VMware VCP-DCV
- Microsoft Azure Admin (AZ-104) or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Familiarity with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), RAID configurations, and troubleshooting network protocols.
- Working knowledge of Office 365, Google Workspace, Azure AD, and cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
- Basic understanding of LAN/WAN/VPN, backup systems, network storage (SAN/NAS), and endpoint security.
- Power Shell, Linux, or macOS experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
