Vice President of Technology (Project Management)
The Vice President of Technology provides strategic leadership, vision, and direction for the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, and digital innovation. This executive role oversees all technology operations, ensures alignment with business objectives, and drives initiatives that enhance performance, security, scalability, and user experience. The VP of Technology partners closely with senior leadership to shape long‑term technology roadmaps and leads high‑performing teams responsible for engineering, IT operations, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
EssentialDuties Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop and execute the organization’s technology strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Lead long‑term planning for infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
- Identify emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on organizational growth and efficiency.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on technology trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Oversee daily operations of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, networks, and cloud environments.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of all technology platforms.
- Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, system uptime, and operational efficiency.
- Establish and enforce technology standards, policies, and best practices.
- Lead the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, ensuring robust protection of data, systems, and assets.
- Oversee risk assessments, compliance initiatives, and incident response planning.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry security frameworks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams across IT operations, engineering, and security.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
- Oversee workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning for key technical roles.
- Oversee major technology projects, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget, and high‑quality delivery.
- Prioritize initiatives based on business impact, resource availability, and strategic alignment.
- Implement governance frameworks to ensure transparency and effective decision‑making.
- Manage technology budgets, forecasting, and cost optimization strategies.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and technology procurement.
- Evaluate and select technology partners that support organizational goals.
- Partner with business leaders to understand needs and deliver technology solutions that drive performance.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Operations, and other departments to support enterprise initiatives.
- Communicate technology plans, progress, and risks to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles.
- Proven experience overseeing enterprise‑level IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated success leading large teams and managing complex technology portfolios.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and executive‑level presentation skills.
- Experience with cloud technologies, enterprise applications, and modern IT architectures.
- Experience in healthcare, multi‑site operations, or regulated industries.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, or cloud‑specific credentials.
- Experience leading digital transformation or modernization initiatives.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer, participating in virtual meetings, or reviewing documentation.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, operating office equipment, and handling digital tools.
- Ability to move throughout office environments, attend meetings, and interact with teams across various locations.
