Job DescriptionThis position may be filled at either the Applications Support Analyst or Sr. Applications Support Analyst level.
Salary Ranges- Applications Support Analyst – Min: $76,663/yr. Max: $97,740/yr.
- Sr. Applications Support Analyst – Min: $84,700/yr. Max: $107,994/yr.
The Analyst delivers end‑user support, troubleshoots applications, and collaborates on the design and improvement of purchased software, training, and coursework.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the Office.
- Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs, correct errors, isolate improvement opportunities, and perform post‑resolution follow‑ups.
- Communicate application problems to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, and end users.
- Evaluate applications for possible enhancements and recommend report consolidations or eliminations.
- Resolve complex application, software, servers, data, or database issues.
- Provide technical expertise on data storage, mining/mtechnology, and cleansing.
- Perform complex reviews of accounts, audit functions, and transaction verification.
- Participate in needs analysis, coordinate with users and senior staff to determine requirements, priorities, and schedules.
- Analyze reports, forms, materials, and recommend modifications to programs and workflows.
- Document problem‑solving process, decisions, and actions through final resolution.
- Recommend and implement processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and control.
- Act as a functional liaison between IT and other departments.
- Participate in technical walkthroughs to ensure business and technical requirements are met.
- Perform preventative maintenance, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and anti‑virus software.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, business, or a related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in application support, business management, or equivalent. Emphasis in IT and systems analysis preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience for Sr. Applications Support Analyst. Emphasis in IT, data, and systems analysis preferred.
- Basic knowledge of VBScript, Workflows, ETL scripting, SQL Server Management Studio, and data analysis.
- Hands‑on knowledge with enterprise and desktop applications.
- Advanced Excel in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Information system management concepts.
- Troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
- Office management practices and procedures.
- Systems analysis and design for batch, online, distributive, and manual systems.
- Data analysis, troubleshooting data management.
- Internal control principles and application methods.
- Computer operations and database interfaces and data flow.
