Talent Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist

We’re seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to support and drive end-to-end HR operations across our U.S. and Canadian mining and drilling operations
. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in blue-collar, site-based environments
, balances high-volume recruitment with broad HR generalist responsibilities, and partners closely with operations leaders.
Reporting directly to the Regional Business Manager – North America
, with a dotted line to the Operations Manager
, you’ll play a critical role in supporting field and corporate teams while ensuring consistent, compliant, and practical HR delivery.
- Own end-to-end recruitment for mining and drilling operations, including sourcing, screening, interviews, candidate checks, medical coordination, and hiring decisions
- Provide HR generalist support across onboarding, employee relations, performance management, investigations, terminations, and separations
- Advise leaders and employees on HR/IR matters
, labor relations, policies, and employment law in operational, safety-driven environments - Coordinate and administer performance management cycles
, including probation reviews and appraisals - Prepare and manage employment contracts and contract variations
- Support promotions, role changes, and demotions aligned with operational and leadership approvals
- Maintain accurate employee records and databases, partnering with Payroll and administering changes in ADP
- Develop and maintain job descriptions for operational and corporate roles
- Produce regular and ad hoc HR reporting for site leadership, North American management, and the parent company
- Respond to HR inquiries via email and phone with clarity and professionalism
- Travel to mine and drilling sites as needed to support Operations and leadership teams
- Partner closely with Operations, HSE, and site leadership to ensure workforce readiness and compliance
- Support and promote a strong safety-first culture
, including reporting and recording HSE events in line with regulatory requirements
- Timely, accurate HR guidance delivered to operational leaders and site teams
- Strong turnaround times across recruitment and workforce changes
- Consistent, compliant delivery of contracts and HR documentation
- Clear, reliable weekly workforce and employment updates
- Ongoing development of HR/IR knowledge specific to mining and drilling operations
Required:
- Diploma (or equivalent) in Human Resources
- 4+ years’ experience in an HR Generalist role
- 2+ years’ experience in high-volume recruitment
, ideally for site-based or field operations - Practical working knowledge of employment law
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience with face-to-face and phone-based interviewing
- Undergraduate qualification in HR/IR or related field
- Prior experience in mining, drilling, heavy industrial, construction, or similar blue-collar environments
- Exposure to both U.S. and Canadian HR frameworks
- High attention to detail
- Resilient, adaptable, and calm under pressure
- Team-focused with a practical, hands-on mindset
- Personable, approachable, and credible with site-based teams
