Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually
Job Overview:
Jerry Seiner Dealerships is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support HR and payroll operations across multiple dealership locations. This role is Utah-based, with regular travel required, including travel to California and other operating states. This position supports HR compliance, payroll support, employee relations, benefits, recruiting support, and general HR operations in a fast-paced, multi-location automotive environment.
This is an in-office position with travel required.
Responsibilities- HR & Compliance (Multi-State)
- Support HR compliance across multiple states, including Utah and California
- Coordinate and track required employee training (safety, harassment prevention)
- Support employee relations matters, investigations, and corrective actions
- Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and 401(k) coordination
- Maintain accurate employee files and HR documentation
- Support audits and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws
- Payroll Support
- Assist with bi-monthly payroll processing for multi-state employees
- Review and audit timecards, PTO, and attendance for accuracy
- Process payroll changes (new hires, pay changes, terminations)
- Support wage and hour compliance, including California meal and rest period rules
- Respond to employee payroll questions and escalate issues as needed
- Talent & Administrative Support
- Assist Talent Acquisition with job postings, onboarding, and offboarding
- Support HR communications, employee events, and internal initiatives
- Provide general administrative and office support
- 1-3 years of HR or HR/Payroll experience
- Experience supporting multi-state employees strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Utah and California labor laws
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Bachelor s degree in HR, related field or equivalent experience.
