** SUMMARY
* * As a Banquet Captain at Snowbird, you’ll lead the execution of events from setup to breakdown, ensuring guest satisfaction and team coordination. This role demands both mental agility and physical endurance—you’ll need to stay calm under pressure, make quick decisions, and lead a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You’ll supervise staff, manage logistics, and handle billing and reporting, all while navigating large indoor and outdoor venues, often in challenging mountain conditions.
** WHAT YOU’LL DO
*** Execute events per Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including conferences, concerts, and private events and weddings.
* Supervise and train wait staff, ensuring high service standards and adaptability to last-minute changes.
* Complete post-event paperwork, billing, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Communicate clearly and calmly with guests and staff to resolve issues in real time.
* Monitor alcohol service in compliance with Utah law.
* Maintain cleanliness and manage equipment and inventory across multiple venues.
* Adjust staffing and resources dynamically to meet evolving event needs.
* Lead by example in high-pressure situations, maintaining professionalism and composure.
** WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
*** 1–2 years of relevant experience; supervisory experience preferred.
* Must be 21+ with Food Handler Permit and TIPS Certification.
* Strong math, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to lift 30 lbs, carry trays, and stand/walk for extended periods.
* Comfortable navigating large, multi-level indoor/outdoor venues in mountain weather.
* Mental stamina to manage shifting priorities, guest expectations, and team coordination.
* Willingness to work long, irregular hours and stay overnight during road closures.
** WORK SCHEDULE
*** Shifts vary and may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Expect irregular hours and last-minute changes due to guest requests or event adjustments.
** WORKING CONDITIONS
*** Must be prepared to stay overnight during road closures or severe weather.
* High-stress environment with frequent interruptions, tight deadlines, and public interaction.
* Requires lifting up to 30 lbs, carrying trays, and standing/walking for long periods.
* Extensive walking across large venues, including multiple floors, buildings, and outdoor areas.
* Must navigate outdoor terrain and weather typical of a mountain resort.
* Requires consistent, professional interaction with guests and staff across departments.
