Job DetailsJob Title: Lead Housekeeper
Pay: $17 - $18 per hour
Schedule: Rotating biweekly schedule. Week 1:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm;
Week 2:
Tuesday - Saturday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning all resident apartments, public areas, and work areas within guidelines, policies and procedures of the community. May be directed by the Executive Director, Director of Environmental Services, Director of Housekeeping or other designee of the Executive Director. Must demonstrate superior customer service and maintain the high standard of cleanliness established for the community.
EssentialJob Duties
- Clean all resident apartments, common areas and offices to ensure the building is clean at all times (includes furniture, fixtures, ledges, heating/cooling units, bathroom fixtures, windows/mirrors, blinds, floors, carpets, walls/ceilings, etc.). 100%
- Set up and post safety signs prior to tasks that could create slips/falls; remove signs when the risk is cleared. 100%
- Report health, safety and sanitation concerns to the supervisor; report apartment repairs or conditions needing attention by other departments. 20%
- Follow the work/cleaning schedules as closely as practical. 100%
- Monitor and remove trash from inside areas of the community to designated cans/areas; continue monitoring throughout shift. 20%
- Keep work areas attractive and free of hazards; store equipment when finished. 20%
- Use appropriate safety PPE when handling chemicals and maintain PPE policies. 100%
- Follow established procedures for storing, using and disposing chemicals; proper disposal of waste. 100%
- Lock and control housekeeping supplies and carts to prevent access by residents or visitors. 20%
- Follow MSDS labeling requirements. 100%
- Support marketing by displaying a positive and professional image and adhering to MBK principles and values. 100%
- Encourage teamwork through open communication with co-workers and other departments. 100%
- Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, and guests. 100%
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Directors or Executive Director. 20%
Job Duties
- May assist in moving residents during emergency situations
- Dust and straighten public area furniture to maintain cleanliness and safety
- Age 18 or over, or have proper work permit
- High school diploma or GED
- Background clearances as required by regulations
- Health screening and negative TB test within the last 6 months (or within 7 days of employment)
- Prior housekeeping experience preferred; on-the-job training available
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to interact effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds
- Ability to use standard cleaning equipment
- Must be mobile and able to perform job duties including standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion
- Must be able to lift cleaning equipment and products up to 40+ pounds
