This position performs duties associated with Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It provides direct patient care and may be required to access and administer medications within its scope of practice and according to state law.

- Scans patients according to protocols and parameters with knowledge of troubleshooting MRI systems.
- Archives patient exams.
- Confidently starts IVs.
- Adapts to different MRI environments (1.5T MRI machines, 3T MRI machines, and MRI machines) in the operating rooms.
- Functions in different patient monitoring systems throughout the organization.
- Follows MRI safety guidelines according to organization policy.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
- Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.
- Ability to provide care appropriate to the population served.
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- One of the following
- Nuclear Medicine Technician Certification (CNMT) from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- ARRT Registration as Nuclear Medicine Technology R.T. (N)(ARRT).
- ARRT Registration as a Radiologic Technologist R.T. (R) (ARRT).
- Depending upon department of hire, the employee may be required to be ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) certified within six (6) months of hire.
Preferred
- Three (3) years of technical MRI experience.
Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
- This position involves intensive work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects, such as medical equipment, or patients while providing medical care.
