Position Overview:

The Intake & Enrollment Specialist supports patient access to Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Case Management services by managing intake, eligibility verification, and enrollment processes. As the first point of contact, this role ensures a welcoming, efficient, and culturally responsive experience for patients and community partners.

This position is responsible for collecting and verifying documentation, determining eligibility, entering accurate patient data into the electronic health record, and coordinating appointments and referrals. The Specialist plays a key role in ensuring timely access to care while maintaining confidentiality, compliance, and organizational standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with completing intake paperwork and enrolling as clinic patients.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and community partners.
  • Enter and maintain accurate patient information in the electronic health record.
  • Answer calls, schedule appointments, and provide appointment reminders.
  • Verify health insurance coverage and provide basic clinic and insurance information.
  • Screen and educate patients about affordable health insurance programs and enrollment resources.
  • Assist patients with accessing services, waitlists, and referrals.
  • Scan and maintain required intake and enrollment documents in patient records.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities.
Essential Physical Functions & Work Environment Work Environment

This role operates in a fast-paced community health clinic serving diverse and underserved populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness. The position requires professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday: 7:45 AM to 6:15 PM. Rotating between opening and closing shifts

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged sitting with intermittent standing and movement
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Extensive computer use and manual dexterity

  • Ability to maintain stamina in emotionally demanding situations
