The Lab Technician collects and receives blood and urine samples for processing. The Lab Technician processes the samples through automatic analyzers and/or microscopes. This role also performs routine medical laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment.
Essential Functions- Performs routine medical laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment purposes
- Calibrates and runs controls for required drugs and analytes
- Enters test result data into laboratory systems and maintains a daily log of activities
- Ensures that appropriate notifications are made of test results
- Maintains laboratory analyzer equipment to ensure efficient operation and accurate results reporting
- Maintains inventory of lab supplies
- Maintains cleanliness of laboratory areas and equipment
- Complies with all CLIA standards and guidelines to maintain laboratory certification status
- Bachelor's of Science with coursework for CLIA requirements
- One year of laboratory experience
- Prior experience with clinical lab testing, toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology
- Phlebotomy certification if required for blood draws
- Driving positions require a minimum age of 21 and a current driver’s license
