Overview
Laboratory Services Supervisor
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
This position is hired at the Supervisor, Laboratory Services level.
Responsibilities Essential Functions- Serves as Lab Supervisor, overseeing all daily operations of laboratory and equipment troubleshooting/maintenance, reporting any major issues to manager.
- Perform bench work/on the floor workload as scheduled.
- Creates schedules for the workplace; point person for establishing minute-to-minute adjustments based on unknowns/unforeseen circumstances; informs manager of any substantial changes.
- Help train and support onboarding of new employees.
- Supervises, trains, and reviews the work of laboratory personnel, including assessing personnel competencies.
- Assist in developing and implementing inventory tracking procedures.
- Assist with document control system (Media Lab), which includes but is not limited to updating Standard Operating Procedures and protocols for CAP readiness.
- Support in QC and PT participation and oversight.
- Oversee research and development projects/requests.
- Responsible for staff scheduling, time cards, training, and supply ordering.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Previous Dermatology Laboratory Experience Preferred.
