Overview
Grants and Contracts Officer – The Department of Neurology is seeking a Grants and Contracts Officer to facilitate the grant process, pre- and post-award. Coordinate research, prepare, finalize, submit, and follow up on industry, foundation, and/or government grants. Research and draft proposals, develop budgets, and manage the submission process, ensuring deadlines are met. Process grant reconciliations, maintain records, and communicate with funders.
Establish relationships with foundations. This position provides complex administrative support for various Principal Investigators and their labs. The position will be primarily remote with occasional days in the office.

- Facilitate the grant process pre- and post-award for the university.
- Coordinate cross-departmentally to research, prepare, finalize, submit, and follow up on industry, foundation, and/or government grants.
- Research and draft proposals, develop budgets, and manage the submission process ensuring deadlines are met.
- Process grant reconciliations, maintain records, and communicate with funders.
- Establish relationships with foundations.
- Provide complex administrative support for Principal Investigators and their labs; conduct work with high independence and judgment.
- Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience for the Grants and Contracts Officer III level.
- Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years for Grants and Contracts Officer II; III requires more experience; IV requires 8 years (bachelor’s) or 6 years (master’s).
- Equivalency Statement: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
- Preferences:
Familiar with University pre-award systems, post-award systems, management reports, chart fields/account codes, Djobs, ePAR; multi-skilled through training and on-the-job experience. - Type:
