In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply and advance your knowledge of technical accounting and financial reporting. You will be responsible for equity‑based transactions (ASC 505 & 718), debt transactions (ASC 470), lease transactions (ASC 842), and other accounting issues as they arise. This role will also be a key member in planning, managing, and executing the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
Additionally, you will manage various monthly close activities, primarily related to the aforementioned transactions, and own the preparation and review of account reconciliations. You will be seen as a process innovator within the organization and recognized for the valuable insights you bring to the technical accounting and reporting teams.
The ideal person for this position will have a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and lease accounting, excellent technical and communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively across business functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead in driving the approach to maintain ASC 842 compliance along with other accounting procedures
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes‑Oxley, and corporate policy and procedures
- Responsible for various aspects of the month‑end close process, ensuring all deadlines and cutoffs are adhered to
- Monitor changes in SEC regulations and update reporting processes as necessary
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and accounting teams to prepare 10‑K, 10‑Q, and 8‑K filings
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for SEC filings
- Work cross‑functionally with other groups to foresee potential accounting issues and recommend practical solutions associated with contemplated business transactions
- Implement and operate systems around lease accounting
- Serve as point of contact with external auditors regarding job‑related matters
- Must be able to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends as business needs require
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: e‑mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired
- Strong interpersonal skills—ability to work closely with people at all levels of the organization and facilitate the implementation of corrective action
- High standard of ethics, discipline, and professionalism
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to multi‑task and meet deadlines
- Minimum 2‑4+ years of relevant experience with emphasis in technical accounting in leases at a publicly‑traded company (a plus)
- Strong functional knowledge of U.S. GAAP and other regulatory requirements, with SEC experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent education requirements
- CPA preferred

- Sedentary or light work that may occasionally require employee to lift/move up to 20 lbs.
- Reaching above and below the shoulder occasionally
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Travel to other locations, as needed
