Compliance Paralegal

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Monitors the progress of and assists in filing regulatory documents, including company licensing and client or legal documents, ensuring timely reporting.
• Resolves outstanding regulatory documentation requirements, including response drafting, regulatory research, and management reporting.
• Reviews and prepares documents and filings in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assists Compliance Department management with projects, appraising management of project requirements, possible issues, and recommended courses of action.
• At the direction of Compliance Department management, performs other duties to further the Department’s focus and goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with financial industry regulatory framework.
• Familiarity with regulatory issues governing loan servicing, including RESPA, TILA, FDCPA, BSA/AML, and other regulation.
• Strong writing, editing and communication skills.
• Strong computer and word processing skills; familiarity with Excel and Access.
• Ability to meet deadlines set by courts, administrative, and regulatory agencies.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain calm, positive demeanor while handling multiple projects.
• Extended hours may be required to meet deadlines.
