Job DescriptionFinance employees receive, account for, monitor, and design internal controls to safeguard sacred funds for the Church's religious mission. Individuals on this team are responsible for research and analysis of basic and complex issues surrounding financial systems and their related processes. Will be required to gain a strong understanding of current financial processes and become part of a team experts that will support both current and future systems.
ResponsibilitiesProvides functional, subject-matter expert level support for existing corporate financial systems within the Church (People Soft/CFIS). It will also assist with the eventual transition to, and support of, the new Oracle-based system that will eventually replace CFIS.
Guides Church departments and areas with analysis and cost/benefit decisions involving changes or enhancements to existing systems.
Manages User Acceptance Testing (UAT), communication plans, training plans and implementations to end users.
Also helps with the maintenance, upgrades, and support of the current People Soft ERP until it is decommissioned.
Qualifications•
Bachelor's degree in business management, accounting, finance, or related field. CPA, CMA, MBA preferred. A best-fit candidate would have a strong background in accounting, finance, or payables who also enjoys working with and managing financial systems and helping end users be successful in using those systems.
• Must have 6+ years of related professional work experience with preference of 4 of those years in financial management or leadership role with responsibilities in business systems development of product and/or project management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to negotiate and positively influence people at all levels of the organization.
• Strong, broad finance and technical background required. Ability to think critically and communicate complex business problems, solutions and systems strategies to business owners, stakeholders, and technical partners.
• Solid knowledge of financial standards, local rules/practices. Requires a good understanding of both US and international accounting and privacy principles/laws.
• Experience with global ERP systems, project planning, organizing, communicating, team motivation and delegating skills (working knowledge of People Soft, Oracle, MS SQL, Power BI, MS Office preferred).
