Position Summary
Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Director of Finance at the Legends Global/Salt Palace Convention Center and Mountain America Exposition Center. Under the guidance of the General Manager, the Director of Finance will oversee the finance and accounting functions of the Salt Palace Convention Center and the Mountain America Exposition Center.
The Director directly supervises Finance Department employees in day‑to‑day facility accounting and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global’s policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities and tasks are coordinated with the General Manager and the Regional Director of Finance.
- Manage and maintain internal controls and compliance in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and maintain compliance for tax reporting purposes.
- Work with county finance personnel regarding the management contract, budgets, monthly reconciliation, and purchasing of capital assets including review and sign‑off of bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and other analyses as needed.
- Create, maintain, and manage budgeting and forecasting, including operating budget, monthly forecasting, capital budget, and cash flow analysis.
- Oversee Momentus Enterprise (CRM/Billing system) configuration and activities such as settlements, accounting, and event reporting.
- Manage business intelligence (Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau) and AI projects.
- Supervise manual journal entry processes and oversee finance related processes (fixed assets, payroll, etc.) to ensure accounting records are complete and accurate.
- Review and sign off financial statements and budget reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work with outside auditors to complete the annual audit and issue audited financial statements.
- Prepare other reports and analysis as requested.
- Assume overall responsibility for all Finance Department duties.
- Work with the Event Opportunity Committee to evaluate events for discounted rent.
- Assist the General Manager with other duties as assigned.
Other duties may be assigned. Some travel is required.
Supervisory Responsibilities- Hire, train, and retain finance and accounting staff.
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a 4‑year college/university or equivalent.
- Minimum 5–7 years of related work experience.
- Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures as well as financial systems and controls.
- Capable of handling all aspects of the accounting cycle and principles and techniques of venue operation.
- Experience using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in the event facilities management industry (preferred, not required).
- Strong business acumen and ability to influence change and drive results.
- Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.
- Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational ability.
- Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate well both inside and outside the organization.
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills essential.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
- CPA is preferred.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information.
- Ability to work under high pressure to meet urgent deadlines.
- Ability to work long, irregular hours and weekends as dictated by event schedules and projects.
- Prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.
Full‑time, 40 hours per week, In‑Office.
Salary$115,000–$140,000 per year depending on experience.
ScheduleMonday to Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m., with some evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Some travel is required.
