We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our team. This individual will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic decision-making across our portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment that blends real estate investment, development, and asset management.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate and timely accounting processes, including accounts payable/receivable, cash management, capitalization, general ledger, and tax.
- Establish and maintain effective project accounting processes.
- Track and manage changes in estimated costs through construction management software.
- Review contractor draws, process commitments, and maintain commitment trackers.
- Ensure proper documentation, including insurance and lien waivers, before work begins.
- Plan, facilitate, and present budgeting and cash forecasting activities.
- Produce detailed financial and analytical reports for executive and asset management teams.
- Support budget reporting and project status updates through data gathering and research.
- Hire, train, develop, and oversee accounting team members.
- Foster strong working relationships with construction, accounting, compliance, and procurement partners.
- Guide financial analysts in modeling existing assets, development opportunities, and potential acquisitions.
- Evaluate project performance, including incurred and committed costs, schedule, funding, and risk assessment.
- Ensure variances from budgets are accurately captured, investigated, and reported.
