Accounting Manager

Location: Greater Salt Lake City, UT (On-Site)

Compensation: $110,000–$125,000 base salary + ~20% bonus potential

Lincoln Group is partnering with a long-standing client in the mining and energy sector to identify a technically strong and detail-oriented Accounting Manager. This role offers a defined growth path, with the selected candidate receiving up to two years of direct training from a highly tenured team member.

This position is ideal for a seasoned Senior Accountant or early-stage Accounting Manager seeking long-term growth in a complex, highly regulated industry.

Candidates with backgrounds in mining, coal, oil & gas, or manufacturing are strongly encouraged to apply. The organization is committed to training the right person on industry-specific regulatory filings.

• Support and eventually lead month-end and year-end close
  , including GL reconciliations and GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Prepare and manage a variety of regulatory filings (government, tax, land leases, etc.); extensive training will be provided.
• Assist with financial reporting and management-level reporting packages.
• Partner with internal and external auditors; maintain strong internal controls.
• Participate in process improvements—though the environment includes significant manual, detail-oriented work due to limited automation.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across accounting, operations, and finance.
• Provide mentorship or supervisory support as the role grows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA strongly preferred
  ; candidates with a CPA or ~10 years of relevant experience are especially encouraged to apply.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; background in mining, coal, oil & gas, or manufacturing is a plus.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Exposure to regulatory or government filings helpful, but not required—client will train.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• ERP proficiency; SAP experience is a plus.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, candid, and seasoned-team environment.
