Senior Associate of Accounting - Real Estate Fund Accounting (Private Equity)
Job Overview:
Our client, a leading private equity firm specializing in real estate investments, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate of Accounting to join their dynamic team. This position requires a deep understanding of fund accounting principles, particularly within the real estate sector, and offers the opportunity to work alongside industry leaders in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage accounting processes for real estate funds, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple real estate funds, in accordance with GAAP and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, tax professionals, and other teams to ensure alignment on financial reporting, investor communication, and compliance.
- Monitor and reconcile investment valuations, cash flows, and expenses to ensure proper financial management and reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of investor reports, capital calls, distributions, and other investor communications.
- Support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring all required information is provided.
- Continuously review and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate fund accounting, with a focus on private equity investments.
- Strong understanding of fund accounting, GAAP, and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
