Sr. Financial Analyst

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products – including 3D woven structures, traditional and non‑traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through‑thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few – AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.

The Senior Financial Analyst supports finance practices and objectives that drive a high‑performance culture emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment and ethics. This position will provide analysis of financial results across the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements. It will work actively with Operations, Program Management, and other functions to understand key drivers and metrics. The role reports directly to the division Sr Manager, Finance and is part of a team chartered to help mature a rapidly growing business.

• Accurate and timely completion of regular business processes including journal entries, forecasts, and EACs (Estimate at Completion) for site programs.
• Ensure accuracy of monthly results, planning and forecasting management, and controls.
• Analyze and review monthly results with leadership, including analysis on direct project expenses, indirect expenses, and other KPIs (utilization, labor efficiency, head count, scrap, rework, inventory, etc.).
• Assist in generating annual operating plan for current year and long‑range strategic planning.
• Prepare monthly analysis of actual costs incurred compared to plan and forecast with summary reporting of variance drivers.
• Support the business unit in the continuous advancement of analytical capabilities to support real‑time management decision making.
• Actively identify and participate in process improvement activities.
• Provide ad hoc assistance, analysis, and reporting as required by management.

Day

Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

• Strong financial acumen with the ability to research and identify problems, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others, and develop solutions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Attentive to detail but able to see the large picture.

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or Associate's degree with 8+ years of experience
• Advanced degree or additional years of experience preferred
• SAP and/or government contracting experience is a plus but is not required for success in this position

Office environment, duties performed indoors, moderate to quiet noise and comfortable temperatures. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental condition levels. Ability to work flexible schedule and be available as business situations require. Travel may be required.
