Solid Works Drafter​/Designer

Meta Designs is a custom metal fabrication company specializing in design and fabrication of stairs, rails, kinetic metal architectural structures and other modern metal elements. Meta Designs is looking for a full time Solidworks, designer for an entry level position. The position will require taking field dimensions, working with clients to achieve desired designs, drafting in Solidworks. Submitting shop drawings to clients and shop for fabrication.

The ideal candidate will have a background in construction, mechanical engineering or industrial design, furniture design.

• Drafting projects in Solidworks.
• Work with fabricators, project managers and clients.
• Taking field dimensions at construction sites.
• Laser scan construction sites.
• Plan reading, take offs from full sets of plans.
• Preparing shop drawings for submittal to contractors and clients.
• Importing and working with existing 500+ part assemblies.
• Produce 2D dxf files and shop fabrication drawings.
• Bluebeam software.

• College degree or equally related experience with Solidworks.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with listed programs.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry in some form.
• Knowledge of general construction geometry, as well and on site dimensioning.
• Experience with excel and other Microsoft programs.
• Constant attention to detail.
• Contribute to design, creative thinker, problem solver.

• Monday
  - Thursday 6 am – 4:30 pm.
