Overview
This role sits within a privately held engineering consultancy supporting industrial process facilities across the United States. The firm provides engineering and construction support services for clients operating in heavy industrial, chemical, power, manufacturing, and process-driven environments. The organization is growing and has a consistent backlog of industrial work.
The RoleThis position is responsible for the structural design and execution support of industrial facilities and equipment-intensive environments. The engineer will design structures subjected to operational, environmental, and equipment-related loads, and support projects from concept through construction.
Responsibilities- Design and analyze structural systems for industrial facilities
- Develop calculations, design criteria, reports, specifications, and drawings
- Design foundations, building structures, and equipment support systems
- Coordinate and oversee structural drawing production
- Review construction activities to verify structural integrity and code compliance
- Provide technical guidance related to safe design and constructability
- Interface with clients, engineers, and project stakeholders
- Support permitting and regulatory approval processes
- Manage discrete structural scopes and small project packages
- Review geotechnical data and apply findings to foundation design
- Use analysis and modeling tools to support structural simulations
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5 or more years of experience in structural engineering
- Professional Engineer licensure preferred
- Experience supporting industrial facilities and process environments
- Familiarity with steel, concrete, and masonry design
- Experience with equipment supports and vibration-sensitive structures
- Exposure to rotating equipment and vibration analysis is a plus
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design tools such as STAAD, AutoCAD, and Revit
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and applicable codes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
