The Project Engineer performs a variety of engineering duties, including field inspection, material testing, evaluation, analysis, design, and technical document preparation under the direction of a higher‑level engineer. Project Engineers conduct assigned engineering work in compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and internal procedures and standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform field inspection and evaluation of structures.
- Test materials and incorporate results into reports.
- Conduct complex engineering computations.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering documents, including inspection reports and design plans.
- Participate in internal project meetings and actively resolve project issues.
- Promote a safe work culture.
- Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in structural engineering.
- Proficiency in computer‑assisted structural engineering and office software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, evaluate facts, and communicate findings.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tasks efficiently.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited four‑year university.
- 0‑4 years of relevant structural design engineering experience.
- Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) designation.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.

The role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, use of hands and arms, and speaking and hearing. Employees may lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Field work may involve walking in rugged conditions, adverse weather, and extended standing. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities. CompensationThe hourly pay range in Utah is $35 to $40 an hour, depending on education and experience.
