About the Role

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the EH&S Manager is the single point of accountability for all environmental, health, and safety activities at the site. This role has no direct reports but carries significant influence, working cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, HR, and corporate EH&S to protect employees, the community, and the environment.

You will operate at both a strategic and tactical level, leading programs, analyzing data, engaging the workforce, and ensuring compliance while continuously improving the site’s safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Leadership

• Manage environmental reporting and permitting related to Air, Wastewater, Stormwater, and Waste.
• Serve as the primary liaison with state and federal environmental agencies.
• Oversee wastewater operations, documentation, and compliance.
• Analyze environmental data to identify risk, trends, and improvement opportunities.

Safety Leadership

• Lead site-wide safety programs focused on injury prevention, compliance, and culture.
• Facilitate safety investigations, audits, and corrective actions.
• Mentor Safety Teams and sub-committees.
• Deliver safety training, maintain training matrices, and support new-hire onboarding.
• Maintain OSHA logs (300, 301, 301A) and corporate reporting.
• Stay current on OSHA regulatory updates and ensure ongoing site compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 4–5 years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with environmental reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Haz Mat Operator (40-hour) certification and First Aid required.
• A proactive, visible leader who takes initiative, speaks up, and builds credibility on the plant floor.
