Piping Engineer

Overview

C&I is looking for a talented and driven individual to join our team. We are seeking a Staff Piping Engineer to help us achieve our company mission. The Plant Design team is responsible for preparing studies, sketches, drawings and models of equipment arrangements and piping layouts, as well as performing computer-based modeling, design, and planning tasks on projects. C&I is a full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.

• Perform pipe stress analysis and pipe support design calculations per applicable ASME codes.
• Evaluate piping loads and stresses on equipment including vessels, exchangers, pumps, compressors and more.
• Use ASME, ANSI, and APU standards utilizing Nozzle Pro, Compress, Caesar II, and manual calculation methods.
• Create piping layouts and 3D models for complex systems using P&IDs, pipe specs, EAs, and vendor data; apply best piping practices/industry standards.
• Develop equipment arrangements utilizing vendor data and design criteria.
• Gather field information and develop field sketches.
• Lead small-sized projects, including managing schedules, budgets, and quality.
• Develop piping/mechanical design SOW documents, effort hour estimates, and resource-loaded schedules; conduct vendor print reviews.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10 years of related work experience.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites (up to 10%).
• Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
• Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any background checks.
• Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
• Valid Driver’s License.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and CADWorx.
• Extensive technical experience in Caesar II, Compress, and Nozzle Pro.
• Prior leadership experience.
