Associate Quality Engineer

Work Schedule

Onsite – Salt Lake City, UT

Work schedule:

On-site, collaborative environment offering a 9/80 schedule (M-Th, 7 am–4 pm; every other Friday off: 7 am–3 pm).

Responsibilities
  • Providing technical support to customers, suppliers and government agencies to guarantee compliance to contract requirements.
  • Aiding in the creation and evaluation of cost‑effective inspection planning.
  • Aiding in the analysis of contractual requirements and creation of program plans, procedures, quality codes, etc.
  • Auditing and reporting to management on the status and progress of quality programs and initiatives.
  • Providing technical support in determining cause of chronic manufacturing/quality problems.
  • Supporting failure analysis, DOEs, SPC and other methods to improve processes.
  • Participating in the review and evaluation of suspect material.
  • Providing technical support for inspection personnel and other interfacing departments.
  • Administering procedures and providing training of inspection and operations personnel in new methods, processes and products.
  • Creating quality trend reports and suggesting improved methods of operation.
  • Supporting the implementation of department procedures and policies.
  • Supporting quality management in special assignments.
Qualifications
  • Typically, a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering/analytical/scientific field is preferred; 0–4 years of experience.
  • Previous experience working in a quality‑related environment is desired.
  • Experience with blueprint interpretation and manufacturing methods is preferred.
  • Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma is desired but not required.
  • Ideally possesses a working knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, inspection, test and procurement processes.
  • Ability to follow through on assignments with limited supervision.
  • Candidates local to the Salt Lake City, Utah area are preferred.

Salary Range Transparency

Salt Lake City, UT $29.00–$42.00 Hourly

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
