Consolidated Engineering Laboratories (CEL) is a leader in providing quality materials testing and construction inspection services. CEL is a union firm with its corporate headquarters located in San Ramon, CA and has full-service facilities in Northern California, Hawaii, and Utah.

We are seeking a Special Inspector 1 (Ins1) to join our Salt Lake City, UT team! Come join us!



Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Inspect reinforcing rebar and/or masonry work. Confirm work adheres to project specifications and building codes.
• Document findings on inspection logs and daily reports. Record non-compliance issues and corrective actions taken. Submit reports for review and distribution.
• Perform field tests, including nuclear density testing, concrete slump/air, make concrete specimens, observe soil proof-rolling.
• Coordinate with project teams, including work schedule, resolution of issues, and attending site meetings.
• Have a safety-oriented mindset.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Five (5) years' experience in the construction testing and special inspection industry.
• ACI I
• Nuclear density certification preferred

Technical Requirements

• ACI I certification.
• Should have one of the following ICC certifications:
  Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Prestressed Concrete, or Commercial Building Code.
• Proper spelling and grammar for report preparation.
• Ability to read project plans and specifications.
• Valid driver's license.

Other Miscellaneous Qualities

• Ability to travel (less than 10% of work time)
• Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
