We’re seeking mid‑level design engineers with a broad background in environmental site remediation for federal and global private‑sector clients. Based anywhere in the United States, you’ll collaborate with scientists, engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers on projects nationwide.
ResponsibilitiesApply your technical experience to the design of environmental remedial actions and/or remediation systems, supported by Jacobs’ global remediation technology team. Evaluate site conditions, determine data needs, assess remedial alternatives, perform engineering calculations, and develop designs. Prepare work plans, reports, and design documents, including design specifications. Mentor and learn from experienced staff while building your own technical knowledge. Perform office‑based work with occasional field support or oversight of data collection.
Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
$74,700.00/yr – $/yr
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.
- Knowledge and experience with environmental remediation technologies, systems, or remedial actions.
- Minimum 4 years of on‑the‑job experience in the environmental remediation industry, with project examples.
- Minimum 2 years of experience designing environmental remedial actions or remediation systems, with project examples.
- On‑the‑job experience writing specifications, preparing basis‑of‑design reports, and developing design drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work remotely with teams nationwide.
- Based within the United States.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain and maintain one.
- Experience with construction or operation of environmental remediation systems or remedial actions.
- Experience performing and leading environmental field work for remediation projects and understanding of methodology and procedures.
- 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
- Experience overseeing subcontractors and/or third‑party construction contractors on active project sites.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to document design decisions and action items.
