Purpose of Your Role

As an integral part of the estimating team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the bidding process, producing precise estimates, and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors. This role requires advanced knowledge of ICT and low‑voltage systems, strong analytical thinking, and exceptional organization in a deadline‑driven, design‑build and commercial deployment environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze architectural and engineering blueprints to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements
• Review project specifications, scope of work documents, and addenda to identify relevant components
• Generate material, labor, equipment, and time estimates that align with project goals and customer expectations
• Utilize industry‑standard estimating methods, tools, and software to develop accurate cost projections
• Prepare itemized lists of quantities and associated costs for labor, equipment, and materials
• Adjust estimates based on project location, deadlines, complexity, site conditions, access limitations, and environmental or logistical challenges
• Bid Management
• Lead the end‑to‑end bidding process from review to submission
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, sales, and project management to validate inclusion of all necessary components and services
• Identify and mitigate risks that may affect cost or timeline
• Maintain comprehensive bid records and track progress through evaluation
• Subcontractor Evaluation
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals against project scope and standards
• Assess reliability, qualifications, and past performance
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to align with budget and timeline
• Refine scopes of work and resolve ambiguities prior to submission
• Bid Qualifications, Exclusions & Assumptions
• Clearly outline qualifications, exclusions, and assumptions to protect the company from unforeseen cost overruns
• Communicate uncertainties or areas of risk during internal and client bid reviews
• Design‑Build & Budget Estimates
• Produce rough‑order‑of‑magnitudes (ROM) budgets from concept drawings or incomplete designs
• Provide cost‑saving recommendations or alternative approaches without compromising quality
• Bid Follow‑Up
• Follow up on submitted bids to receive outcome details and feedback
• Document insights to refine future proposals
• Site Visits & Virtual Assessments
• Perform local or regional site visits when needed to validate conditions
• Conduct virtual site assessments to adjust estimates and ensure realism
• Attend pre‑bid, bid‑review, preconstruction, and project‑kickoff meetings
• Defend and explain estimates confidently in internal and client discussions
• Maintain long‑term relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
• Provide transparent, timely communication on pricing, changes, and estimate rationale
• Ensure smooth handoff from estimate to project execution
• Share insights to refine scope, timelines, and budgets across departments
