As a Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will be a member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state‑of‑the‑art passenger trains, managing complex interfaces, and integrating brake systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Create concepts, specifications, and technical documentation for passenger train systems.
• Design and integrate systems into various rail vehicles.
• Coordinate technical and project system requirements between Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and other engineering teams.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for Stadler’s contracted external system suppliers.
• Interpret and incorporate local, federal, and customer requirements into system designs.
• Define procurement documentation, type testing, and commissioning documentation.
• Support static and dynamic field testing of rail vehicles.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) of assigned system(s).
• Follow scheduling, budgetary goals, and guidelines.
• Ensure clear and effective cross‑departmental collaboration.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal. German is a plus!

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar Engineering discipline.
• Experience with designing and defining mechanical systems.
• Independent and well‑structured working methods.
• Able to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
• Self‑motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative to maintain project timelines.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, and problem‑solving skills.
• Great 3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA V5 is a plus).
• Experience working in a PLM system (Smar Team or Teamcenter is a plus).
