As part of our Water Business Group, you will help shape how communities manage water for generations to come. The SW Regional Business Class Lead will coordinate, facilitate, and provide risk management for large‑scale, multi‑discipline projects across the Southwest operating region, including dams, levees, and flood risk management.
Responsibilities- Coordinate, facilitate, and provide risk management for high‑complexity, multi‑discipline projects.
- Build and maintain client and area business class relationships.
- Participate in project development and contract document preparation.
- Mentor mid‑ and junior‑level staff across disciplines to promote growth and quality delivery.
- Oversee a variety of project types: planning, design, inspection, and construction management of interior drainage, riverine flood risk management, dams, reservoirs, ecosystem restoration, drainage, and major site civil infrastructure.
- Coordinate with inter‑related disciplines (hydrology, hydraulics, structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD, GIS).
- Collaborate with other regional and corporate business class technical leads and advisors.
- Reinforce the Quality Management Program (QMP) and participate in staff training.
- Engage with corporate business class leadership and coordinate work shares across HDR’s network.
- Review work scopes, products, SOWs, contracts, and project pricing with HDR legal and other stakeholders.
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations.
- MS in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering.
- 15 years related experience.
- Experience as a task lead or project manager in consulting.
- Self‑starter, highly motivated, team oriented.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Extensive experience designing and directing large complex multi‑discipline projects.
- Construction or construction administration experience for dam and levee projects.
- Strong technical writing, solid engineering background, and effective presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a professional or closely related field.
- 10 years experience in a related field.
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration.
- Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
- Works cooperatively with business class regional directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers.
