Employee Development Specialist – Composite Repair
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global aerospace leader to hire an Employee Development Specialist – Composite Repair in Salt Lake City / West Jordan, UT
. This role is ideal for experienced composite professionals who are passionate about teaching, mentoring, and developing the next generation of skilled aerospace technicians.
In this position, your knowledge won’t just build aircraft—it will build people. Your instruction will directly support expanding composite fabrication and repair capabilities across multiple aerospace programs and sites.
Role SummaryAs an Employee Development Specialist – Composite Repair, you will serve as a technical instructor within the Production System Training (PST) Fab Faculty organization. You’ll design and deliver high-quality training that ensures employees are skilled, safe, and production-ready in aerospace composite repair and fabrication environments.

ScheduleMonday–Friday | 1st or 2nd Shift (based on training demand)
Pay Rate Starting at$42.89 per hour
What You’ll Do Day to Day- Lead classroom and hands‑on lab training in composite repair, fabrication, and assembly
- Apply instructional best practices to prepare, deliver, assess, and reinforce learning
- Adapt curriculum and delivery methods to meet business‑specific training objectives
- Engage learners using varied media and teaching techniques to improve retention
- Assess student progress and provide coaching, remediation, and motivation as needed
- Analyze training needs for new hires, recalls, and transfers and coordinate delivery plans
- Identify performance gaps and recommend improvements to training content or methods
- Manage classroom and lab environments in compliance with safety and company policies
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet training commitments and business goals
- Adapt to challenging learning situations in real time to deliver value‑added instruction
- Support training across varying shifts and regional locations as required
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations or manufacturing support
- Experience coaching, instructing, or working as an employee development specialist
- Experience designing and delivering training or leadership development curriculum
- Ability to read and interpret detailed work instructions, blueprints, and drawings
- Comfort working with aerospace‑related chemicals and solvents (e.g., sealants, alcohol, MPK)
- Strong communication, facilitation, and customer service skills
- Regular and predictable attendance
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies:
1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or
2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
- Aerospace Manufacturing and Lean certifications
- Hands‑on experience with structural, electrical, repair, functional test, seal, or systems work
- Background as a mechanic or technician in structural, mechanical, or electrical systems
- Experience in areas such as wing, spar, or structural assembly
- Experience with needs assessment and job analysis
- Advanced education (Bachelor’s degree or higher) with 6+ years of related experience
