Alpha School is deploying an AI-powered reading program that redefines early literacy instruction. You will facilitate brief, high-impact workshops rather than conventional hour-long sessions. Your work includes diagnosing learner needs, developing original evidence-based lessons without pre-built materials, and contributing to adaptive technologies that extend your expertise to hundreds of students. This position requires reading specialists who excel without prescriptive curricula and are committed to pioneering scalable literacy solutions.

• Facilitating adaptive reading workshops focused on building core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
• Creating personalized, motivational sessions that engage students and foster a lifelong passion for reading
• Reviewing student performance data to iteratively improve your methods and generate actionable insights
• Partnering with the technology team to assess and improve AI-powered literacy tools

• Following pre-scripted curricula or adhering to published scope-and-sequence frameworks

• Cultivate a passion for reading in young students

• Bachelor s degree
• Master s degree or advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years of experience conducting small-group reading interventions with early elementary learners
• Capable of assessing reading proficiency, organizing student groups, and creating differentiated instruction without reliance on pre-written curricula
• Experienced with AI/adaptive learning platforms and able to respond effectively to student behavior within these systems
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship requirements

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
