Position: Special Education Mild/Moderate Math Teacher - External Applicants only - One Year Only position

Overview

Bennion Jr High School – Special Education Mild/Moderate Teacher (1.0 FTE). One Year Only position. Job posting closes at 3:00 pm on the date listed above.

Education and Licensure

Applicants must meet one of the following licensure categories to be considered for a Special Education teaching position in Granite School District:

  • Utah Special Education teaching license
  • Out-of-state Special Education teaching license
  • New graduates from teacher preparation programs who have not yet received their official teaching license should upload a conferral letter from their university in place of the license. The conferral letter must be on official university letterhead and must include the degree earned, anticipated graduation date, and the type of license and content area(s) in which the candidate will be recommended to the Utah State Board of Education.
  • Have at least a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university and already been approved for an Associate License through the Utah State Board of Education in Special Education
  • Have at least a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university and already been accepted into one of the following university Special Education programs:
    Weber State University, University of Utah, Utah State University, Southern Utah State University, Western Governors University, Brigham Young University, Westminster College, or Dixie State University
  • Have at least a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university and be enrolled in one of the above programs and be approved for the Associate Educator License program through the Utah State Board of Education within 6 months of hire. Failure to be approved within this timeframe may jeopardize continuing employment in Granite School District.

Please attach the following documents depending on licensure situation:

  • In-state and out-of-state applicants must upload a copy of their state license with their application.
  • If approved for an Associate License, upload both a copy of the highest university degree and your AEL eligibility letter.
  • If accepted into one of the programs above, upload your university acceptance letter. Applicant must be in good standing with the university.
  • If only a Bachelor’s Degree, upload a copy of the Bachelor’s degree.
  • Mild/Moderate endorsement is required.
  • Position is for the remainder of the 2025 – 2026 school year.
  • Preference will be given to teachers who demonstrate collaboration and the ability to support students in general education classrooms to access and progress in the general curriculum.
