Under supervision, the adjunct instructor will teach various Psychology (PSY) classes offered by SLCC.

This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available.

This position is paid at $1,056 per instructional unit.

1) In accordance with SLCC policy, adjunct positions are offered on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment.
2) Official transcripts are required for those who are offered employment within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively prepare and teach classes following department and SLCC curricular requirements.
  • Provide effective, meaningful and timely feedback to students on their coursework.
  • Maintain records of student performance and attendance.
  • Provide ADA accommodations as directly by SLCC Accessibility and Disability Services.
  • Respond to student questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Complete required training within the timeframe given by SLCC.
  • Participate in department or school training as appropriate and when possible.
  • Maintain professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
  • Becomes familiar with, and abides by, all college policies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
  • Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Psychology (or closely related field) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience teaching at the college or high school level.
  • Ph.D. in Psychology.
