  • Provide consultation regarding online alternative learning option to administrators and other educators.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between teachers, administration, boundary-school personnel, and other stakeholders related to online learning for P&SP students.
  • Organize appropriate and effective distance learning curriculum.
  • Participate in special education meetings with general education teachers, special education teachers, and school administrators.
  • Participate in district level PLCs, committee meetings in collaboration with general education, and other district level committees.
  • Prepare and present appropriate professional learning opportunities to department online staff members.
  • Provide support and coaching to P&SP teachers in applying best instructional practices including, but not limited to:
    • ability to support positive engagement strategies in online learning environments;
    • how to select and use appropriate educational digital tools and technologies; and
    • how to support student social and emotional needs in a virtual setting.

  • Knowledge of the core content area(s) outlined in the USBE Core Standards, and adopted by the Board of Education, correlated with other district-approved learning activities.

  • Requires one of the following:
    • a current Utah Professional Educator License with one of the following license areas of concentration:
      • School Social Worker;
      • School Counselor;
      • School Administrator; or
    • an equivalent license in another state or country.
  • a current Utah Professional Educator License with one of the following license areas of concentration:
    • School Social Worker;
    • School Counselor;
    • School Administrator; or
  • School Social Worker;
  • School Counselor;
  • School Administrator; or
  • an equivalent license in another state or country.
  • A master’s degree or higher from a regionally-accredited institution is preferred.
  • Preferred a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a position requiring an educator license.
  • In conjunction with the Director, the position is empowered to make decisions regarding appropriate student placement in the academic setting that will provide the greatest chance of success.
  • Interacts and collaborates with employees, board members, patrons, vendors, administrators and secretaries in schools.
