Overview

The University of Utah School of Medicine's Department of Human Genetics is hiring evolutionary genetics faculty to expand its research strength in this area. The search is for one or more tenure-track positions at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Applications from investigators in all areas of evolutionary genetics and genomics are encouraged; experimental and theoretical approaches are welcome. Areas of particular interest include microbial evolutionary genomics, vertebrate population genomics, comparative evolutionary genetics, and human evolutionary genomics.

Faculty hired will participate in the development and teaching of innovative courses. Successful candidates will receive a generous startup package and be part of a stimulating research environment that emphasizes innovation and collaboration.

• Develop independent and vigorous research programs with potential to contribute to campus-wide interdisciplinary evolutionary biology and genome science communities.
• Participate in the development and teaching of innovative courses.
• Collaborate across departments and engage in an active, collaborative research culture.

• Tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
• Demonstrated potential or record of achievement in evolutionary genetics and genomics, with flexibility for experimental or theoretical approaches.
• Ability to establish independent, vigorous research programs and contribute to a collaborative academic environment.
