Math Teacher (FT)

American Heritage School and Family Education Center helps K–12 students thrive intellectually, spiritually, physically, and socially in the light of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Candidates should demonstrate an enduring love of youth, a love of teaching and learning, and a desire to work in a faith-based atmosphere that is aligned with values taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The successful candidate will be professional in appearance and demeanor and will be willing to uphold the Mission

, and Diversity Statement both on and off-campus. The candidate will demonstrate support of AHS s mission and values by thoughtful responses to the application questions.

• Demonstrate warmth and enthusiasm, subject-matter expertise, and the ability to relate knowledge to students  lives through memorable and applicable principles.
• Use pacing that maintains engagement and employ methods that encourage reasoning and connection to the real world.
• Provide formative assessments of learning and establish purposeful routines in class.

• Bachelor s degree is required.
• Teaching license and graduate degree are preferred, but not required.
• Two years or more of professional teaching experience is preferred. Exceptional candidates with one year of teaching experience and strong recommendations will be considered.
• Candidates without professional teaching experience will not be selected. Special education training is helpful but not required.
• Must submit a resume and list of 2–3 professional references
