Position Title: Youth City Teen Program Instructor Hourly
Location: Salt Lake City Corporation
Job Description: We are looking for an Hourly Youth City Teen Program Instructor to provide teen supervision and implementation of the Youth City Teen Programs goals.
About The Position: This role requires you to teach, implement programs, and communicate with Community Programs Managers, collect data, and develop effective strategies to meet and exceed Youth City’s organizational goals and objectives.
About The Team: The Youth City Teen Program Instructor will report to the Senior Community Program Manager and assist the Community Program Manager with the Youth City after school teen program. There is 1 Director, 1 Associate Director, 1 Senior Program Community Manager, 2 Community Program Managers, and 6 Teen Program Instructors.
Work Schedule: 25 hours a week.
Position Wage: $20.00/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and plan activities for teens based on learning objectives outlined by Youth City teen program.
- Complete weekly lesson plans based on established program goals.
- Assist with program’s grant required assessments to ensure program quality metrics are met.
- Maintain accurate tracking and documentation as required by the program.
- Ensure compliance with all grant requirements including tracking and reporting.
- Assist with program grant required assessments.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and staff trainings.
- Performs all other duties requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent and at least 21 years of age.
- Possession of valid Utah Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment.
- Experience working with youth from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally and demonstrate public presentation skills.
- Ability to demonstrate group management skills and techniques.
- Ability to work independently as well as under supervision.
Working Conditions:
- Moderate physical activity. Required to push, pull, or lift medium weights. Uncomfortable working positions such as stooping, crouching, and bending.
- Exposure to stress as a result of human behavior and the requirements of the job.
- Will be required to work in the evenings and weekends.
