Overview
The Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies at the University of Utah and the Huntsman Cancer Institute is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, DOQ, to be an integral member of the Plasma Cell Dyscrasia Program, primarily focused on clinical trial development and accrual of patients with multiple myeloma.
Responsibilities- Provide superb clinical care for patients with plasma cell dyscrasias including smoldering myeloma, multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and Waldenström macroglobulinemia.
- Lead and participate in clinical trials as principal investigator and develop investigator-initiated trials with novel therapeutic approaches.
- Collaborate across disciplines to boost the Plasma Cell Dyscrasia Program with a variety of research projects with high potential for clinical impact.
- Supervise a multi-disciplinary clinical staff, including advanced practice clinicians, pharmacists, and clinical/research coordinators.
- Maintain a strong track record of cooperative group, investigator-initiated, and industry-sponsored trial participation.
- Establish funding from intra- and extramural sources (federal, foundation, pharmaceutical).
- Practice primarily out of the Huntsman Cancer Institute and University of Utah Hospital.
- MD or DO;
Board Certified. - Minimum 3 years of clinical experience focused on treatment of plasma cell dyscrasias.
- Experience with clinical trial development, trial accrual, and leadership of investigator-initiated trials.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience obtaining intra- and extramural funding from federal, foundation, and pharmaceutical sources.
The mission of the Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies is to provide state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment in an environment of compassionate care to patients with hematologic cancer and non-malignant hematologic conditions. The division has 31 full-time Clinical Faculty members engaged in clinical, translational and basic research across subspecialties and is committed to growth through high quality, innovation, and dedication to the Mountain West catchment population.
